More Than Just Fashion by the Numbers

Fashion That's Workable and Understandable

Whether you find yourself dressing for entry-level positions or somewhere beyond to top-level serious business, the image you communicate is based largely on the clothes you wear. We offer the following guidelines for those who never really knew, or may have forgotten, what it's like to dress for success on the main floor mailroom or the executive boardroom, and all the stops along the way. More than just fashion by the numbers, it's a workable, understandable, method to dressing appropriately for various business situations.

LEVEL ONE: UNTAILORED
The job specs here may not require a suit. This is the guy who has become very familiar with the sport shirts, relaxed jackets and casual slacks in his wardrobe. He's unofficial, available, easy going and responsive.

LEVEL TWO: CASUAL TAILORED
While the job still doesn't require a suit, this guy has dialed up the sport shirts and slacks a notch to include the options of taking his leather blazer or soft sport coat to work and wears it with a knit or woven sport shirt. It's a mix of the classics with lifestyle comfort, making him less authoritative and less influential, but approachable and conscientious.

LEVEL THREE: SOFTLY TAILORED
The job specifications have been ratcheted up another turn of the dressy dial. The classic and always versatile navy blazer is the major component of this less-than-formal business wardrobe, along with dress shirts in range of bold colors and patterns. The classic blazer allows for alternating shirts and ties with knits and sweaters. This guy is comfortable in his clothes and in his leadership. You'll recognize him as influential, receptive, dependable and accessible.

LEVEL FOUR: TAILORED
At the top of his game and in the office with a view, the job specs demand a dark, dressy suit here. There's no fear of fashion experimentation here. The shirts and ties enhance his commanding presence as the role model and decision-maker. Naturally, this man is, confident, credible, stable, and authoritative.

As professional clothiers we'll help you select the perfect wardrobe components for just the right image at any level of business. The better you look, the better you feel. The better you feel, the better you perform at any chosen endeavor.
